Setting Up a Game

In chess there are two players. One player gets the white pieces and the other player gets the black pieces. Traditionally, the player with the white pieces moves first. Each side gets eight pawns, two knights, two bishops, two rooks, one queen, and one king. To see this, switch to the window containing the chess applet and, if a new game is not already setup, hit new game.
